SUMMARY:Makerspace: Stone Wrapping Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Beginning Stone Wrapping Workshop \n“Every stone carries a memory\, if you know how to listen.” Lysa Cohen \nJoin us to learn beginning stone wrapping\, a meditative practice which emerges from the Japanese Zen tradition. Tsutsumu (wrapping) of stones is considered by some an “act of devotion”–a relational gesture of respect for the object\, the maker\, and the receiver (if given as a gift). While wrapped stones are meant to symbolize peace and mental clarity\, mastery of wrapping techniques requires practice and attention. We will learn two basic wraps. Once you feel comfortable with these\, feel free to make your own designs. The variations will seem limitless. \nAll materials will be provided. However\, please feel free to bring stones you’ve found (or ones that have chosen you) to wrap if you like. \nSunday\, May 17\, 2-4pm in the Makerspace (entrance & parking in back of the library) \nRecommended for adults \nSpace is limited\, RSVP required\nIf you RSVP and later determine you can’t make the workshop\, please notify the library so your space can be opened for others
