Jyoti Rajan Gopal Author Visit: Reading + Craft

Author of One Sweet Song, My Paati’s Saris, and more! Jyoti will visit with Germantown Central School students in grades K + 1 during the day, and meet us at the library for more fun after school!

In her visits, Jyoti covers themes of identity, belonging, biculturalism and community and offer activities in literacy, art, and social studies. All ages are welcome. This event is geared toward students in K -3.

The Riverdale students were delighted with Ms. Gopal’s presentation of her latest book, My Paati’s Saris. Through her animated and expressive reading, she draws her audience into the pages, where she vividly presents the characters, interspersing stories of her childhood and the feelings behind them. Her reading was punctuated by a wonderful demonstration of sari folding and fitting. We will definitely be inviting her back to share her next book with us!”

The Elementary Library has copies of Jyoti’s books. The PTSA will deliver more to classrooms . . . just as soon as they are arrive in the mail! You can also place a hold through the MHLS and have books delivered to our library for you to pick-up.
