About Train Stop Jiu Jitsu
Train Stop Jiu Jitsu, is more than a martial arts academy—we’re a values-driven, mission-centered community committed to growth, connection, and transformation with a foundation grounded in the art of Jiu Jitsu but a philosophy that reaches far beyond the mat. That means we champion individual growth over personal performance, believing that the true measure of progress lies not in victory, but in the quiet, determined steps forward each student takes on their own journey. Our doors are open to everyone: Whether you’re young or old, experienced or brand-new, competitive or purely recreational, you are welcome here.
About the Instructor
Train Stop Jiu Jitsu owner and head instructor, Cody Christensen is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt under Aaron Harris of Gambit Submission Fighting, based in New Paltz, NY. With a training journey that began in 2008, Cody brings more than sixteen years of dedicated experience to the mats. His pursuit of grappling knowledge has taken him all over the Northeast, allowing him to study under a wide range of instructors and styles. For him, coaching is one of the most rewarding aspects of the journey—an opportunity not just to teach technique but also to inspire growth, build confidence, and help others find joy in their own path.
